DESCRIPTION
The history of Communist Albania was particularly strange and complicated from 1966 to 1974. One of the most isolated and repressive countries in Eastern Europe for most of the 20th century, authors were on very uncertain ground. This was the confusing period during which Moikom Zeqo began to write "Meduza", the book from which the poems in "I Don't Believe in Ghosts" were selected. Before the "Meduza" manuscript was ever compiled into a book, the Alganian government labeled Zeqo as a Hermetic, with modernist influence. This manuscript was suppressed until 1995, after the fall of Albanian communism.
