This is a story about a Pride of Cats that have adopted the ancient bushido code as their way. They primarily act as a police force or “enforcers” in the land of Amera under the authority of King Ironblood, traveling from town to town on peace keeping and criminal apprehension missions. Lately though, they have been spending most of their time up to their necks against the Rat horde.
The members of the Pride are: Master Orcanis Sulrana (Orca), Genju Sulrana (Ghost), Ember Sulrana, Raven Mortanya and her brother T’war, and Sabre Wroth who happens to be a Wolv. A Wolv in a Cat Pride? Hmmm. You’ll have to read the story to find out how THAT came about! The time frame for Samurai Pride is about 3000 years in the future. Humans have been extinct for almost 2500 years and have been replaced by their creations, called "Animons". These Animons are the descendants of the animals that had been genetically altered to exhibit human like physiology and behavioral traits, including rational thought and problem solving. The world is now populated by several sentient Animon races including: Rats, Cats, Wolv, Dogs, Mice. After so long a period of separation from their Human creators, many of the Animons have begun to take an active interest in the ancient world the humans so completely dominated. Many of the old human ruins have been excavated and studied. Old philosophic and religious interests the humans once held to are now being re-discovered and adopted by the Animons, who naturally add their own spin to things and develop their own unique cultures and beliefs. It’s the same planet, but a whole new world!
In this issue: Having been informed that her brother, Orca Sulrana and his wife Genju disappeared while on route to Eastwind. Ember Sulrana and Sabre Wroth depart on a journey to find them. Meanwhile, Orca and Genju find themselves smack dab in the middle of a sinister plot to undermine the kingdom of Amera.
