She goes through all of the self-doubts and second thoughts that any older woman might experience before going online over a one year period in search of a compatible companion. Her inner debate continues throughout the book by means of two other voices besides her own: one is shown in bold type and criticizes every move she makes while the other, in italics, is much more supportive. Follow Kayla’s online journey as she meets five men, telling about each encounter as it takes place (yes, the author did the research herself). Some elements of the past are included as they relate to the story mostly giving the reader a flavor of the protagonist’s personality and a sense of her septuagenarian status.
