In 1893 the "World's Columbian Exposition" was held in Chicago. As part of the Exposition, "The World's Congress of Representative Women" met, attracting over one hundred and fifty thousand attendees for presentations by three hundred and thirty prominent women.
This address, from that 1893 Congress, challenges Christians to rethink focusing so much time and energy attempting to reach and save "those most willing to hear, and consequently most easily reached." It is not only the poorer people in the slums and alleys that need Christ. Bringing the word of Christ to the wealthy class is especially necessary.
