DESCRIPTION
Considered to be the best of the Henry VI plays, The Third Part of King Henry the Sixth illustrates the chaos that reigns in a kingdom ruptured by civil war. Part 3 is a play of the battles of the War of the Roses, each more brutal that the last. King Henry is finally conquered by destructive and evil events which are out of his control. And the emergence of Richard, Duke of Gloucester, toward the middle of the play, prepares the ground for one of Shakespeare's best known plays, Richard III, the final play in the tetralogy.

This edition is based on the 1914 Oxford edition, which ranks among the most authoritative of the 20th century.
