A review of The Raven
After years of hearing about it, seeing references to it in films, books and media, I've finally read it. My complaint, I waited to long! This is an evocative, heart stirring poem dealing with grief and loss. The use of the raven's voice that seems to utter the one word 'Nevermore' constantly reduces the human subject of the poem to greater and deeper levels of anguish and pain. The drawings by Dore, although dated in style, still capture the mood of the poem. Wonderfully strange, beautifully imaginative and heart breaking in its final verse. The only issue I have is with the dated and hard to read commentary at the end. All in all, a must to download.

A review of Major Karnage
The best thing about this was that it was a free download. It gives 2 dimensional characters and plot a whole new meaning. The book almost seems to be a throw back to the pulp fiction sci/fi and fantasy books of the 50's but without the enjoyment. The aliens are mindless, the plot skimpy, the characters shallow and the overall concept simplistic. Can't say I am a fan and he should of stayed with writing for The Adventures of Billy and Mandy, at least that made me laugh.
