The “B” movie referred to is “On the Beach” produced in 1959 staring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire, Anthony Perkins and directed by Stanley Kramer. It was nominated for two Academy Awards. It dealt with the lone survivors of a nuclear holocaust living in Australia. They themselves will perish in less than a year marking the end of mans time on Earth. The Submarine was used to deliver its crew back to their homes where they could die in peace. Personally I don’t mind being compared to it although my story continues beyond the end of the world.

The “The Submarine Effect” has little to do with a submarine other than a means of delivery. The world does end partly because of others and party because of us. But this story also deals with our survival as a race and the world we have to deal with hundreds of years after the event. What is an event? It’s a moment in time. It usually happens only once. When you pick up a novel it is also a moment in time, an event. It and its characters deliver a world that is absolutely real during the time you are reading it and will continue to do so every time someone picks it up.

The file for the e-book was uploaded prematurely and there doesn’t seem to be a way to fix it. The printed version was corrected, but in every book I pick up I can find grammatical errors. Please don’t read this version as an English teacher, but for the story it delivers. I have gotten some reviews that compare it to the work of George Orwell and H.G. Wells and again I do no mind being associated with them.
